Available in a community as well as a commercial edition (based on per-user licensing) since 2004, SugarCRM is a customer relationship management software designed around open source technologies (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Php).

The community edition of the software can be downloaded free of charge and it offers 85% of the functionality contained in the commercial edition.  The community which supports the software includes hundreds of thousands of users.  The software can be used with every type of platform (Windows, Mac OS, Solaris).

SugarCRM provides the Sugar Community Edition for free, and Sugar Professional and Sugar Enterprise are available through yearly licensing.
